Tapas tour in Barcelona: Poblenou

One of the delights of a visit to Barcelona is the rich foodie culture and great opportunities for seafood and small plates (Tapas). This small excursion into town was to stop at several places and find small items that could be eaten at a go without completely filling up. Besides I started quite early in the day and would not be able to find a full dinner as Catalans are known for eating dinner very late (starting at 10:00 is early for many of my friends).

The first stop on this little walk were some nibbles at the seaside at a Chiringuito run by the Barcelona restaurant chain MONCHOs. KamGrrl and I went with our friend Xavi who after a short tour around the beaches for some beer took us over to Chiringuitos Las Sardinas for a small serving of Tapas and Paella.

After the Paella, Xavi made his way home and KamGrrl and I walked back along the Rambla de Poblenou. This area, less populated than the more bustling La Rambla de Barri Gothic (de Canaletes, or dels Estuidis, or de Sant Josep, or de les Flors, or dels Caputxins, or de Santa Monica) that connects the marina to the Placa Cataluna.

Moonrise Kingdom, a cozy craft beer bar in Tokyo-Shinjuku

Craft Brewing is not what normally comes to mind when people ask about Japan. They'll ask if you like raw fish (there is more to Japanese cuisine than Sashimi or Sushi), or they'll comment about Sake (there is more than just rice wine in Japan); but if you look, you will definitely find some. (Family Friendly video) 2) It was a sled 🛷 . It's not an extreme sport. It's called a Rodelbahn (toboggan road) and is considered fun for the whole family. Sebastian supplied the sleds/toboggans, and after a full morning on the mountain skiing. We planned to use the few remaining hours of lift access to run the Rodelbahn. Totally reasonable. 3) The run isn't like a luge or bobsled but a trail down reasonable slopes (switchbacks adjacent to a green dot, blue square ski run) but maybe a bit narrower.
