FEB 2015- near infrared Lake St Clair

Very frozen February afternoon. With temperatures hovering near zero Fahrenheit (-18C) took a "short" walk with Sabine to get her cabin fever worked out. Took the visible light filtered hacked digital camera out too see what we could not see. de-saturated of color for simple Black and White versions of the infrared images what the original images show up as with no edits Not too far from the Geocache, GC3ATPW Sabine is not impressed

January from the Geocache ground zero

View not far from the Geocache January 2015 When I set this cache years ago, I established a challenge to the cachers to send me their pictures from the GZ so we could see the grandeur of Lake St. Clair (only said with a little sense of irony, it is a dwarf among the great lakes but still plenty grand.) Simple overlay of Lake St. Clair in color scaled to Lake Zurich (Zurichsee) in BW similar view September 1 2014 I thought it would be a nice oppurtunity to see the seasons change in Michigan if more people would take their pictures from the same point, more or less. However, not very many contributions have been collected. July 2014 StringGirl with Greg WhimpyKid http://www.geocaching.com/track/map_gm.aspx?ID=5671180

New "Wimpy Kid" Geo Coin from Geocaching.com about to go into the wild

Just received in the mail my "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" commemorative Geo-coin. It will be going into the wild pretty soon. Likely will be deployed from my Cache nearest home.  Anybody can track the progress of Greg and KamGrrl by using the reference:  TB6J547

Teleportation to Europe: Geocaching and Travel Bugs

With my travel schedule and caches spread in different location where I go most often, I have told others that my cache can be thought of as a travel Bug Teleporter. While TB hotels are common I think I have not yet heard of many that can propose to be transatlantic teleportation launch sites. This travel coin from the MidWestGeoBash will head to Germany soon  StringGirl and the MidWestGeoBash coin will travel together to Germany

GeoCaching the Faye-Luther trail (California-Nevada border)

FOUND IT!  Faye-Luther Cache #2 GC213MJ  View Larger Map Should be REALLY close to "Brittania's REST" GC3FDJJ

Geocache : Zueri10 nice view

Well at least the view would be nice if visibility was better, and the air warmer.

Meet Hops Hopfen-Sepp (TB3ZKR6 )

Ever since we started GeoCaching we have traveled the world snapping our pics with StringGirl and more lately with Amber. But now we are starting to see all the same place over again. The remedy? Set up a new Travel Bug. Hops   Hops is a recent acquisition, joining our travel group when we were last in Germany in the Hallertau region of Bavaria. The beauty of setting up a travel bug is the hope that it will travel from Cache to Cache and hopefully, have some pictures taken in places I don't already know. Amber and Hops The mission for those who bother to try, is to transpotort Hops from Cache to  Cache and have his picture taken infront of prominent features of the nearby area (indoor, outdoor, Bier Gardens and Breweries).

Geocaching in Bayern (Bavaria Germany)

StringGirl onsite with GC2AWNX - Rohrbach ad Ilm - Waterworks Not far from here work site in Bavaria. Typical that she visits Munich and Pfaffenhofen around this time each year.  Looking down from GZ of the aforementioned cache site. By the way look out for THORNS there are many and they are large! StringGirl at the Cache site GC21WGR :   RIP Haus am Dom

Caching near to home (for a change)

Getting locked out of work is not really the best start to ones day, but today it did afford me the extra few minutes to be able to wander away from the office to visit the caches near the office. I could just hang in the lobby, forlorn until everyone else shows up.... On the campus of the Troy Civic Center

Cache :log rieterberg

No luck on this one. As i try to find the small cache in this urban park. Try to make sense of the clue did not offer any help. And dodge the muggles.  At one point some fellow cachers lurked at ground zero and appeared to fall short as well.

Geocaching in the Tegernsee, Bavaria

Stringgirl, kam-muter, and PeterPan went caching in the high hills of Bavaria near Tegernsee. A long walk along the "stations of the cross" find you at a high placed chapel.

Caching in Pfaffenhofen (Bavaria)

In Pfaffenhofen after a short visit to Zurich. Working again with my Bayerische team. The cache "pfaffenhofen bunker" (paraphrased) was farther from the city center than we thought. Starting in the light, but arriving in the dark (though the stop for beer may have influenced that as well. The cache was located easily once my team mate proved that his phone is superior (or at least better Calibrated).
