String Girl in front of the Brandenburg Gate
String Girl was a little uncomfortable at the Holocaust memorial, and a little sad
A single picture cannot do the memorial justice. It is really quite overwhelming once you step into it. The place is crawling with people on most days, but once you step into the center you will be totally isolated. Glimpses of people come in and out of view, but they slip from your sight easily.

Here is a panorama shot put together with StringGirl's help
Wish i was better with the stitching of this panorama shot. But I think it captures the breadth of the monument pretty well. It is an enormous amount of land dedicated to the holocaust with very little explanation of how the artist intended it to represent the holocaust. It is a clear pallet for your imagination to fill in. I found it very isolating after going through the museum that lies underneath the memorial, than when I first entered it.
