Detroit Canal (did you know they have canals?)

Looking from the Canal nearest Afred Brush Ford Park * not where you should park or try to launch Cruising through r eddit.com/r/Detroit one day and a post catches my eye. ummmm, no I haven't. There's a canal system? The thread goes on to post a bunch of theories about where to get in, how much to pay, and if you can in fact make it through to Marshall's Bar. Pretty unsatisfying. So I decided to change that. After driving around the area aimlessly for about 20 minutes, I decided the best chance to put in was from Riverside-Lakewood East Park, or what is left of it. Clarion River and Allegheny National Forest river camp (Worst Camp EVER, don't come here 😜)

Put computer demo hardware, business apropos clothes, and other professional accoutrement in the other half of the car and hit the road. The concept initially was that could drive straight to Pittsburgh, drop off the work things then head into the forest and find a spot to sleep. But as the day slid past, I had to drive straight into the woods and find a plac...
