Wurst & Moritz; Zurich stop for Currywurst

Read the Zurich tour guides for places to eat in Zurich and you will read about a wide range of foods, starred Michelin restaurants, authentic Swiss cuisine, Asian cuisine of every island, mainland, and in between. You will read many reviews for cutting edge gastropubs, wine bars, and bistros. But what you might not expect is the ubiquitous street food of Berlin and the Ruhrgebiet . THE CURRYWURST. At http://www.wurstundmoritz.com/ Pommes-Bahnschranke We are great fans of Currywurst. I will pretty much always order them with fries (mit Pommes) and those Pommes will be Bahnschranke (literally railroad barrier, red and white). Whenever I'm in Germany I will find the neighborhood Currywurst stand and sample their fare. Bahnschranke  = Railroad barrier Train stations, dive joints, downtown, uptown, anywhere I can find it. Finding one in Zurich was a great treat. A German guidebook to the best Currywurst stands in Germany Currysurst Bahnschranke  ...

While this may seem counter-intuitive to many that art and old industrial buildings for art and culture, but many in German feel that the bond between the two is strong. While we think of art as something for the rarefied high society and that manufacturing and heavy industry don't fit. But realize that most of the successful industrialists were those first patrons of th...

StringGirl 3.0: KamGrrl

KamGrrl, the latest iteration of StringGirl to travel with me February of this year a very unfortunate event lead to us having to say goodbye to StringGirl and Amber. After a flight from Zurich to Dusseldorf, I found that the two girls had sprung loose and did not make it out of the airside portion of Dusseldorf Airport. After over 600,000 miles flown the original StringGirl was gone. What I found was that travel really was not the same without them.
