Grand Rapids Art Prize, just a short visit

The Grand Rapids Art Prize is an annual open art competition held in Grand Rapids, MI. Covering several blocks of the Downtown area the "Art Prize District" invites artist 18 and older to create and display their art for what is billed as the "worlds largest art competition". "Get your freak on"  Pamela Troyer We were only in town for one weekend (the last as it turns out) so we barely got to scrape the surface of this event. We will have to make sure that we get out there for next years. As I saw by the website that I missed alot of interesting art. Las Vegas Cosmopolitan hotel resort casino: review

Skyline view from 41st floor It has been many years since I went to Vegas; so when StringGirl and I had the chance to go there for our annual trade show, we had know idea where to stay. Except for the fact that we knew not to stay at the choice the engineering manager picked back in 08 (Mardi Gras, Best Western. Blech! Felt like I had to burn all my clothes after that trip to prevent bed bugs.) Elevator stories naked people in the "Phantom Zone" Right as you enter the lobby of this one of the newer resorts on the Strip you are greeted by the striking video art installation that has one the Cosmopolitan much praise these past years. The pilasters in the lobby are all large format video walls displaying hi definition movies; alternating between decidedly steam-punk surrealist elevator scenes, apparent nude men and women reaching toward us from the "Phantom Zone" contained in the pillars, out of this world botanical prints from alien A...
